The music

Joan Mompart presents Le Colibri (The Hummingbird), his first commission as director of the Théâtre Am Stram Gram, uniting composer Christophe Sturzenegger and writer Élisa Shua Dusapin. Faithful to his fondness of music and literature, Mompart introduces his long-standing musical companion to Dusapin, a fascinating young swiss writer and winner of the Robert Walser Prize and Prix Suisse de Littérature.

The work seizes a fragment from the life of two teenagers, Lotte and Célestin, who are neighbours for a couple of weeks. Between love and friendship, loneliness and the desire for company, the loss of loved ones and childhood illusions, Le Colibri weaves a story of fractures and links to give meaning to the untold as it spreads its wings.
