For the first time, the Orchestre de la Suisse Romande is organising a festival dedicated to the illustrious figure of silent cinema, Charlie Chaplin: an event for all ages, from 24 to 26 May. Under the direction of conductors Timothy Brock and Philippe Béran, four of his finest films will be screened behind the Orchestra, which will play the instrumentation live in the magnificent Bâtiment des Forces Motrices: The Kid, The Circus, Modern Times and The Great Dictator.
A visionary satire that left its mark on the history of cinema, The Great Dictator will be presented for the first time in Switzerland with a new orchestration of the film's original score by Timothy Brock, who will conduct the Orchestra himself for the occasion.
