Sandrine Chatron is an inquisitive, multi-faceted harpist. She has been principal harp with the Nederlands Philarmonisch Orkest since 2009 and has taught orchestral practice at the Amsterdam Conservatory since 2012. An enthusiastic teacher, she leads audition training sessions and takes part in courses, masterclasses and competition juries.

Sandrine Chatron graduated from the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Paris in 1994 in harp and chamber music, and is a prizewinner in several competitions (Arles, Charpentier), the Fondation Banque Populaire (2000), and the Fondation Tissier Grandpierre (2019). She studied with Gérard Devos, Marie-Claire Jamet, Frédérique Cambreling and Germaine Lorenzini. She is an enthusiastic advocate of a wide repertoire, from the single-movement harp to contemporary works. She is a member of the Trio Polycordes, with whom she has created numerous interdisciplinary works and performances. She was a member of the Ensemble Calliopée for twenty years. A guest at numerous festivals, she has a predilection for chamber music and collaborates with artists such as the Elias Quartet, Amaury Coyetaux, Juliette Hurel and Ophélie Gaillard.

As a soloist, she has performed as part of the Présences festival, at the Théâtre des Champs-Elysées, the Musée d'Orsay, Radio France and the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, with the Nederlands Kamerorkest, La Grande Ecurie-La Chambre du Roy and the Ensemble Fa.
She has premiered numerous works, including those by Pierre Boulez, Krystof Maratka, Philippe Schoeller, Susumu Yoshida, Ricardo Nillni, Frédérick Martin, Luis Naon, Alexandros Markeas, Robin De Raaf and Fabien Cali.

Keen to promote unpublished or little-known repertoire, she has released several critically acclaimed solo albums for Naïve-Ambroisie and Aparté: André Caplet et ses contemporains (2005), Le Salon de musique de Marie-Antoinette (2009) and A British Promenade (2017), and has an extensive chamber music discography, with the Trio Polycordes (2017-2018-2022) and with orchestra.

She has collaborated with the Ensemble Intercontemporain, the Ensemble Klangforum-Wien, the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, the Orchestre National de France, the Berliner Philharmoniker and the Lucerne Festival Orchestra, and has played under conductors such as Claudio Abbado, Ricardo Muti, Georges Prêtre, Sir Simon Rattle, Pierre Boulez, Daniele Gatti, Lorenzo Viotti and Marc Albrecht.
She also plays the historical harp with orchestras such as Le Concert de la Loge, Le Cercle de l'harmonie and Le Concert spirituel.
