Originally from Metz, Alexandre Faure studied under Michel Becquet and Alain Manfrin from 1993 to 1998 at the CNSM in Lyon where he was unanimously awarded First Prize with the congratulations of the jury as well as the Special Antoine Courtois Prize. That same year, he was selected to play with the Youth Orchestra of the Schleswig-Holstein Festival. He has played as principal trombone soloist with the European Union Youth Orchestra conducted by Colin Davis, the French Youth Orchestra conducted by Marek Janowsky, the Orchestre des rencontres musicales d'Evian conducted by Mstislav Rostropovitch and Jerzy Semkow and the Verbier Festival Orchestra conducted by Kurt Masur and James Levine.

Alexandre Faure was awarded Third Prize at the Toulon International Competition (2001) and Third Prize at the Grenchen International Trombone Competition (2002). With the trombone quartet of Lyon "Kimoiz", he was awarded Third Prize at the International Brass Ensemble Competition of Passau in Germany (1999) and Second Prize at the International Brass Ensemble Competition of Guebwiller in France (2001).

He plays in numerous orchestras: the Munich Philharmonic Orchestra, the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, the Orchestra of San Sebastian, the Orchestre de Paris, the Orchestre national de France, the Orchestre philharmonique de Radio France, the Orchestre national de Lyon, the Orchestre de l'Opéra de Lyon, the Orchestre de Chambre de Lausanne, the Zurich Opera Orchestra, the Zurich Tonhalle Orchestra, the Monte Carlo Philharmonic Orchestra, the Orchestre National de Lorraine and the Luxembourg Philharmonic Orchestra.

In 2005 and 2007, Alexandre Faure made recordings with Mr. Becquet and the "Octobone" ensemble and the "Kimoiz" Quartet.
