Imagine a symphonic orchestra before you...
You dream of being able to get up, to walk between the musicians and to discover the sound of each family of instruments.
Street Light Orchestra is an installation that brings together five street lamps. Four of which broadcast a soundtrack from a family of instruments: brass, strings, wood, percussion. The fifth, in the center, plays the work with all the instruments as the conductor hears them.
You are in the centre of the orchestra
The visitor travels from one lamppost to another to explore the piece in all its subtleties. A lught show accompanies the music.
The music was recorded by the OSR, with the help of the RTS, conducted by Maestro Philippe Béran.
Recorded works :
- Boléro, Maurice Ravel
- 4ème mouvement de la Symphonie fantastique op. 14, Hector Berlioz
- The Sorcerer's apprentice, Paul Dukas
- The Symphony No. 9 in E minor, "From the New World", Antonín Dvořák
With the support of the Association genevoise des Amis de l’OSR, the Loterie Romande, and the Radio Télévision Suisse.
